PRESENTATION POWERPOINT | “I want to run. To do what I always do, have always done, for the last five years of my life. Escape, flee into the shadows. But this time, I stand my ground. I'm tired of running.” ― Marie Lu, Prodigy
Sri, your presentation was thought provoking, engaging, and easy to follow. I thoroughly enjoyed eating the chocolate chip cookies because they were delicious, but also because of the deep connection you created between them and the essence of your book. They symbolized escapism through food, which I know I can definitely relate to. They soothe the soul, but then once you realize how many calories you've consumed, it's high time to hit the gym, put in some effort, and receive the results you crave more than the comfort. The literary devices you chose to analyze were very critical to note down, and I loved hearing how Mitchell creates this alternate reality (almost like Inception!) and the relations to John Lennon's thenumber9dream. These aspects were more deeply analyzed within your research paper, which was equally engaging. I was curious about the specific purpose of the alternate narrative style of writing and found within your paper that it contributes to point of view and development of the bildungsroman. Thanks for an engaging presentation :)
Your presentation, unlike many of the others, was not only informational but extremely interesting. For most presentations, not simply in this class, parts of them are wonderfully done while certain slides tend to be lacking. Your presentation, on the other hand, was very clear with no lacking parts. It was well delivered through out. Your analyses were very clear and the relation between your poems and book were very well explained.
My favorite part of your presentation was probably the activity you decided to do. The fact that towards the very beginning of the presentation, you had us write down what we fear most, made many of us pay closer attention to what you were saying. You made your novel applicable to our daily lives, which is something that is very hard to do, and then ended your presentation full circle by bringing up this activity at the end. Your presentation was as interesting as it was informational.
Your presentation was fantastic. It was extremely thought provoking throughout, and I found it to also be very engaging. The connection you made initially to the comfort food you brought was great, and the way you presented it as an escape from sorrows was a great way to see a connection to your book. The structure of your presentation was very well done. Everything that was done had a purpose and related back to your book. I loved the way their were chapters to head each piece of your presentation, it made the presentation very appealing. The number nine was present everywhere, from your power point, to your business card, to your handout, and as an audience member it was great to see that continuity.
Your conclusion, or lack thereof, was honestly one of my favorite parts of all the presentations. The lack of a conclusion worked perfectly with your presentation and the themes you were discussing and went along perfectly with the flow of it. It was a great ending as it was humorous, and very appealing to the audience, while still connecting back to the basis of your presentation. It, along with the rest of your presentation was extremely creative and you could tell very well thought out. Your presentation overall was seamless, and I felt engaged and interested all the way to the end.
